My daily Autumn/Winter skincare routine

It’s been a long time since I posted something. I am so sorry. 😦 I was caught up with the festivities around here.It involved home decorating, lighting the balconies with lamps and earthen pots and ofcourse, decorating yourself. 😉 If you are following me on Instagram, you may have seen me posting a video on my room decor and a picture of me in traditional attire and makeup for Diwali,an Indian festival of lights.

Now that I am finally over with them, let me post a skincare routine for women suffering from combination/dry/sensitive skin for autumn to winter season.Hope this helps you. 🙂

I follow a very simple daily skincare routine as I beleive we women, juggling from home to office don’t have so much time to pamper ourselves on a daily basis. :-\ I will post a weekly home facial routine soon for that extra time we reserve for ourselves on the weekends. 😉

I cleanse my face twice a day with Avene emollient cleansing gel for dry to sensitive skin. This cleans the face well but may make the skin bit drier. If I have makeup on,I remove it first prior to cleansing with coconut oil.

After cleansing ,I spray the Avene thermal springwater on my face and neck to tone the pores and also cool down my skin and reduce the redness.I have eczema patches on my cheek,so this has helped it a lot.I let it air dry.

I follow this with Patanjali aloe vera gel.I massage it gently all over my face and neck and wait for a minute or two to let it get absorbed.Aloe vera gel is good for dry flaky skin or sensitive skin.Actually for all skin types. Oily skin women may stop their skincare routine at this.Aloe vera gel moisturizes your skin, soothes the sensitive skin and reduces itchiness and dryness. It doesn’t clog the pores. I have done a post on goodness of aloe vera gel.Do check it out here.

Since I have dry patches,I apply Nevlon moisturizing cream on my dry patches for additional moisturization.I use this for daytime as this is readily absorbed into the skin without causing greasiness. For nightime or at home days,I use Avene Trixera+ selectiose emollient cream on the dry patches only, since this is very rice in nature. This is good for eczema people as it reduces the dryness.Check my instagram for 1 month result, where my flakiness disappeared after applying this.

For luscious lips,I have been using a natural lip balm from Puresuds. This is highly moisturizing and keeps my lips hydrated for 6-8 hours without eating/drinking and for 4-5 hours with drinking/eating.

This entire process takes approximately 4-5 minutes. 🙂 Isn’t that simple! You must have noticed that I am using Avene products a lot.In no way am I promoting or advertising for them.I am using the products as they are genuinely good for sensitive/problematic skin.I have seen the results and also my dermatologist suggested me to use. However, they are costly, atleast in India. But good things come at a price. 😛

Also,Nevlon ,Puresuds and Patanjali are Indian brands,so you may not find them in your country or online. But you can use their equivalent.I am sure aloe vera gel is hugely available worldwide,so is the lip balm containing shea butter or mango butter. You can use any moisturizing cream that suits you.

I have been following this routine for more than a month, and my skin texture has improved,so is the glow.Earlier I used to have serums in my routine but now I have kept it simple.

If you want me to review any of the products used above,do write in the comments section below. I will be happy to post on them.

Skin care tips for Eczema prone people-Autumn/Winter season

After a 2 week long hiatus,I got some time to post this. I wanted to write about something different, which has always been my companion.Since childhood,I am having an on & off relation with it and now,I have come to accept it. It has changed my thinking about the way I look and carry myself in the world.

Yes! I am talking about a skin condition. If you have followed me since the beginning,I had written some posts regarding it and now that again the chilly weather is going to set in India, this is the perfect time to share with you. I have been suffering from Atopic Dermatitis/Eczema/Itchy dry skin rash condition. It usually starts from childhood and is genetic in nature. If you have someone in your family who has this or is suffering from Asthma, then you are at risk.

I know you are thinking, what’s the relation between skin and lungs? My doctor told me that usually if you suppress lung condition,it shows on your skin and vice versa.I have the skin condition and my brother had Asthma.Luckily, his case got over in his teens only. 🙂 My family line from mom’s and dad’s side, have these and so I inherited them pretty easily. 😛 My dad’s side had Asthma and Psoriasis and my mom’s side, well my mom herself has eczema. :-\

When my allergies were suppressed,I developed cold and cough which refused to go away easily. This happened when I was taking Allopathy meds.Nowadays,I am currently on Homoeopathy again and they have balanced the two.Sometimes the allergies go away, sometimes they are just hovering on the skin.

In India, people are not aware of this and usually mistake it for skin rash and apply steroids or prickly heat powder. In doing so,you are basically harming the skin more.I have vowed to stay away from steroids myself.

Eczema is not communicable disease and usually it comes & goes with seasons, food intake or any allergent you are allergic to.With these things keeping in mind,I want to share some tips to go through it and embrace it,rather than feeling low . I walk with confidence and don’t care what people think.Nobody is perfect but everybody is beautiful in their own way. 🙂

  1. Since it is dry skin condition, moisturizing is the key. Wherever, you have dry flaky patches, apply creams.Creams are thicker than lotions & oils and provide more moisturization so use it according to the degree of dryness you have.On my body,I use coconut oil after bath.It is light in nature and gets readily absorbed, providing shine to the skin and softness.I have done a post on this. You can read it for how to use as a moisturizer. I use Avene Trixera cream on my cheeks twice a day.It soothes the skin, makes it less itchy and red.
  2. Your skin barrier is broken so it has lost its capacity to hold moisture and so the dryness. To repair the barrier,Take vitamins and supplements for the skin, either in the form of fruits and veggies or tablets. My doctor suggested me to take Vitamin A tab half yearly for a week.Currently I am having collagen tablets once a day for the skin for a month. Also I am applying hand cream at night called Logifeel cream which has Glycolic acid. This is required by the skin to keep it hydrated. This has actually made my hands appear more softer.
  3. Avoid exfoliating when you have eczema.Your skin is already inflamed and doing this will aggravate the dryness further.
  4. Cleansing is equally important to remove the rapid buildup of dead skin which is causing the flakiness and dryness.I use cream based cleansers during Autumn/winter as my skin becomes drier. My favourite is Aroma Magic aloe vera cleanser.I have done a review on it.You can check it out here. Also I am using Avene Trixera emollient cleanser.I am having trouble understanding this one though as it is bit drying in nature, but soothes the skin and reduces inflammation. So I don’t know why is is called emollient. For the body I am using Nutraclin cleanser .This one is my saviour since last winter.Read here what I like about it.
  5. Dry weather causes loss of moisture from the skin.So cover the areas which are exposed when going out.I usually cover my face with a scarf.Humidifiers are good for indoors. Also keep yourself hydrated by drinking water.
  6. Avoid taking long baths in hot water. They may feel relaxing but renders the skin drier.
  7. Even if you don’t have outbreak of eczema on your skin,it is best to follow the skincare strictly.Prevention is your friend.
  8. If you can’t stay away from makeup, then go for cream based or water based foundations. They will provide the moisturization. Also choose products wisely after seeing the ingredients.
  9. Aloe vera is a natural remedy for dryness and sensitive skin. Also shea butter, kokum butter etc are good natural alternatives for artificial creams. You can try them.I did a product review on aloe vera gel available .Check it out here.

All the above are personally tested by me and so far,are working for me.If you want to know more about eczema or maybe suggest something to deal with it,do pen it down in the comment box below. Also,to know about any product mentioned above, let me know in the comment section and I will do a review on it happily. 🙂

See you all in the next post, byeee, take care..:-* and Love Thyself.

Juicy chemistry Peach & strawberry oats face scrub review

It’s Friday here.Well! ignoring the time gap between the countries,it is Friday evening now. 😛 After a long time I am posting something, thanks to my hectic office schedule (sarcasm) .

I am back with another review and as you know,I have a penchant for everything herbal and organic.Today I will be reviewing a face scrub sent to me for review purposes from Juicy chemistry. You may have heard about them in my earlier posts where I have reviewed their products. Here are the links if you want to see what I have reviewed.

Hair masque review

serum review

face & body wrap review

I took my time in deciding whether this face scrub is worth it or not.

Availability: It is available through their whatsapp contact (+91- 9655663566) and facebook page only. They are building a site, which will solve the availability issue later on.They ship globally too.

Ingredients: Everything you can eat. 😛 Not really,but I did taste it,I won’t lie. 😀 It indeed contains oats and sugar.Apart from this,it has honey,almonds,coconut oil,olive oil,peach fragrance oil,strawberry fragrance oil,jojoba oil,dried strawberries and vitamin E.

Fragrance and texture: It smells like oats, sugar and strawberries.Texture is granular like. You can see the grounded oats & sugar crystals.

Price: INR 300 for 75 g. Shipping charges extra.

What they claim: It exfoliates the skin gently, leaving it soft and supple.Absorbs dirt and grime and tackles dull and flaky skin.It improves skin tone and texture.

My views: I have used it after coming back from the office using public transport . I mentioned this specially, because India doesn’t have ACs in every public transport. Also pollution and dirt is more in the evening and traffic jam is ughhh!! Imagine the misery my skin goes through.

So I tested its efficacy and I am not disappointed. I used it with water instead of milk and then also it worked. It left my skin soft without causing any redness. Also I felt fresh and my skin looked clean.I believe it will work for all skin types. Mine is sensitive combination skin and so far it has worked.

I cannot comment on skin tone or texture as my skin ,thankfully is currently on the better side. It does exfoliate as I noticed my skin looked radiant after usage.

You need to take only a small amount, pea sized for your face and neck and it is sufficient. So this will last atleast 2 months or more depending on how much you take.

Overall verdict is go for it if you want a daily cleanser that has no chemicals .

PS: Patch test recommended.

SaND for soapaholics face cleanser review

Hi beautiful ladies!

This time I am late in posting. 😦 I am sorry.I had promised myself to post atleast 2 posts in a week.

Well!hoping that you are keeping up well,I would love to share my views on a product sent to me for review 15 days back. After using it diligently,I think I can finally say something on it.

I am sure you haven’t heard of this brand before, even in India. So,let me first acquaint you to this brand.Their products are inspired by traditional Indian home recipes for skincare, include natural artisan soaps, moisturizers, body creams, shampoos, conditioners etc.It started in August 2014 and their ingredients are directly coming from the kitchen. It started with a mother’s labour of love; a revelation. It began in 1991, when their Chief Crafter, Sangeeta, realized that her newborn was reacting to most available toiletries & cosmetics at the time. So,she plunged into the study of skincare. She took up aromatherapy, soap-making, lotion-crafting, and on a whim decided to dig into skincare remedies that her family had previously used. This unearthed a treasure trove of ancestral recipes gathered from her friends, family and community. Using these recipes, her research, and ingredients commonly found in the kitchen or home garden, Sangeeta was always experimenting with new formulae. They worked wonderfully for her child’s skin – so well in fact that the entire family hasn’t used commercial products in years. Over time, she started sampling her creations to friends and extended family. They were so well accepted that a dream to offer it to the market began germinating in her mind.

Here’s their site if you want to have a look or buy something. 🙂

I was sent a face cleanser meant for my skin as they had suggested it will work for me.It is named as Wipe out.I loved their tags, very quirky names they gave to their products. 🙂

Price and quantity: INR 243 for 30g,INR 405 for 50g and INR 810 for 100g.I was given the 30g product.I feel the 30 g jar will itself last you more than a month as the quantity required for the usage is very less. 🙂 Shipping charges are additional 120 bucks.

Availability: Right now, they sell only through their facebook page and website. Also,as far I came to know, they do ship internationally but for international orders, contact them on their email given on their site. 🙂

Ingredients:Every 10gm contains Oil blend of Almond Seed (Prunus amygdalus), Peanut Seed (Arachis hypogeal) & Vit E (64.67%), Emulsion of Honey (22.74%), Beeswax (6.34%), Potassium Sorbate (0.56%), Ess.Oil of Sandalwood Heartwood (Santalum album) (0.09%). I am allergic to peanuts and almonds and till now haven’t noticed any reaction,so the content is less for any visible reaction.

Packaging: It comes in a sturdy golden plastic jar.Since the product is thick,it neither sticks to the cap if inverted, nor does it leak.So a definite yay for travel. The jar has labelling of the brand, ingredient list, usage instructions and price.

Fragrance: Faint smell of sandalwood.

Texture: Thick waxy consistency

Usage:Take required amount and massage face, eyes and lips. Wipe with a damp cotton/cloth.

Shelf life: 4 months from date of packing.

Recommended for: Sensitive skin and makeup removal.

My views: When I first applied it,I didn’t see any redness or tingling feeling. Also,it easily removed my smudgeproof eyeliners in a ziffy. 🙂 So it stays true to its claims.

However, even after removing with cotton, there is a layer of the cleanser left on your skin which makes it feel oily/sticky.So if your skin is combination or oily, you may need to wash it off with your facewash. If you have dry skin, then a mild face wash is sufficient to remove the stickiness.

I had also used another method for this cleanser.I massaged the cleanser on my skin for a minute gently as its bit hard to glide on the skin. Then I washed it off with my face wash.Skipping the cotton part will retain more oils on my skin which acts as moisturizer.I do not feel the need to add moisturizer on my face after this if I use this method.

You can choose any method that suits you.I usually take the product as if I am applying face cream.Very little goes a long way.Do keep in mind that its more solid so it doesn’t spread well on the skin. 😦 Due to which ,you may tend to massage it more which is not good for skin. I follow the 5 dot rule on my face.

My skin is more soft and supple post its usage. Not a single trace of makeup can be seen on my face. Also my cotton pad comes off dirty whenever I used it,so it cleans well too.

My rating is 3.5/5 as a secondary face wash is needed to remove the traces and also because it is bit difficult to work with on the skin.Maybe they can make it more softer in consistency. 🙂 Overall you can use it as a makeup remover if the cleansing part appears cumbersome to you. 🙂

Nutraclin body cleanser review

Heya ladies!

I have been looking at Caitlyn’s photo(Yes! The famous picture that is being circulated on the internet and Omg,she’s glamorous.) and that’s when it occurred to me,that there are other beautiful ladies all over the world to whom I made a promise to blog  regularly.

So I opened my notes app on my phone, checked which product I have to write about and chose a body wash for you. 🙂 My phone is my diary.I click pictures, take notes and edit them.It is all in there. I have heard that to be a good blogger, one needs to have a DSLR or a high end editing software. I find it hilarious. 😛 As long as the picture or video you are posting is visible enough to spot the letters and no.s in it,why spend so much on a bulky camera or high end software?

I have been using this bodywash since January 15 and it will last me another month and half easily. This product is marketed by a company called Ethicare Remedies. They work closely with dermatologists, cosmetologists and plastic surgeons. So their products are safe to use for skin and hair and targets the problem areas if you have any. For me,this is the first company who claims to have products suitable for my eczema-prone sensitive combination skin. After reading on them,I decided to try their cream and bodywash. I have already reviewed the cream HydromaxCT earlier.Link is given below. To know more about this company and their products, check their website below.Till now, they have shipped to Mauritius, Dubai, Bangladesh, Yemen & Nepal;and expanding further. If you want to buy something, contact on their email given in the site.

Official website:

HydromaxCT review:

Price: INR 159 for 250 ml which is cool, really. This will actually last you a long time .Also, they give a free loofah which is of good quality.

Availability: Only available on their website and also I am eagerly waiting when they will be available in nearby stores.

Smell: Glycerine-ish smell which is not too strong.

Ingredients: Given in the picture below.I didn’t like the presence of SLS and SLES. It could have been avoided but I guess, for lather purposes it is required. 😦

Packaging: Plastic bottle with a flip-top cap which is sturdy for travel purposes.

Texture: It has clear gel consistency which is not too runny.

Usage: Since it lathers well,so small quantity is required. Differs from person to person.

My view: I absolutely love it and it was my knight in shining armour when I was plagued with eczema during winters.I took the courage to go outside without applying moisturiser after bath to see its effects and I was surprised. It kept my skin soft even without a moisturiser that too during the harsh winter. In summers, due to the presence of hot blowing winds in Delhi, you may need a moisturiser. It has immense quantity of glycerine in it so that’s why it keeps the skin soft.Since it is a neutral Ph cleanser,it is safe to use.

If you are a lover of lather, this won’t disappoint you. 😉 It cleans the skin well and refreshes you .It is economical since it lasts a long time and that too within your budget. If your skin is dry and sensitive, you should go for it.Normal skinned people can also opt for this.

PS: If you have cuts or wounds,it might sting you because of glycerine in it.Also,do a patch test before. This is my honest review.I haven’t been sponsored in anyway.

Huge Haul-Khadi and various websites

Heya beauties!

Sorry for being so inactive on my blog, but if you are following me on instagram, you may have seen that I got smoothening done on my hair and also was spending my vacation in Kashmir.Infact, even there,I couldn’t stop myself from buying beauty products. 😛 May month has been my bank emptying month. 😀 I splurged a lot on skincare, makeup and lots more.So today I will be posting about the haul which is so much responsible for stealing my money. 😛 I went to Khadi,a Govt. owned herbal and handicrafts store.I went there keeping in mind for replenishing my stock of Amla,Reetha and Shikakai powder for my DIY shampoo, but ended up buying more than that.

What I bought:-

  1. Amla,Reetha and Shikakai powder-Each costs for 40-50 INR for 200g.Yes! it’s cheaper than the Amazon Khadi powders which I had bought earlier. Also, the quantity offered is more in the store.
  2. Facial cleanser or Ubtan- INR 120 for 100g.I always wanted to try Ubtan. Will review it.
  3. Facial scrub-INR 80 for 100ml. It is good for pore cleansing. Will review it.
  4. Skincare oil- INR 259 for 50 ml. It is like a serum with essential skincare oils.I use it in my night-time skincare routine.I will review it.

All of the products mentioned are herbal and infact Khadi claims that there might be discolouration in them with time, which proves the authenticity. There might be some preservatives in the liquid or gel versions of Khadi products but of minimal quantity. Apart from this,I bought some products online from Flipkart, amazon,Nykaa and Purplle sites. These sites were offering discounts and free shipping.

IMG_20150509_113453 IMG_20150509_113510 IMG_20150509_113524 IMG_20150509_113549

What I bought:-

  1. Citronella oil for my diffuser from Breathe aromatherapy- 50ml in INR 299. It is best when it comes to effect and fragrance.
  2. Aroma Magic aromatic skin toner- Suggested by my parlour. INR 170 for 200 ml. Will review it also.
  3. Kudos color expert cake eyeliner-This brand deals with herbal products and is new in the market. It offers 4 colors-black,brown,blue and green in a small compact style box, without any mirror. 😦 Will review it soon. 16g in INR 410
  4. Bliss T-light candles for my diffuser- I love fragrances in my room. 50 pieces in INR 199
  5. Avera 50 round cotton pads- INR 155 for 50 pieces
  6. Lakme eyeconic kajal in blue & green-Best long lasting kajals at affordable prices. I got it for 200 INR each

I prefer buying online because you get so many discounts.Do keep it mind that overall cost of the product should be less inclusive of delivery charge if it’s there.Otherwise, what’s the point of buying online. 😉 Hope you liked my haul post.

Till the next post,cya.. :-*

My current skincare routine-Sensitive combination skin (Summer time)

Heya beautiful ladies!!!

By this time you must have noticed that I am a weekend person, when it comes to posting anything.Weekdays are the most hectic part of my life,so it is quite tough to write anything during that time. Now,you must be thinking,”She should get a life.Who sits at home during weekends?” 😛 Well! I usually prefer my weekends at home,as in India, you don’t want to venture out in the heat and also,I am quite a lazy person. 😀

Anyway, today my post is about the skincare I am following currently. As of now,my skin is having small dry patches on the cheeks and an oily T-zone.Firstly,I don’t wear make-up on a daily basis so this skincare routine is different. So,I will include details regarding  minimal to no make-up skin only.

I would like to say that till date,I haven’t found a single product which controls my T-zone but doesn’t strip moisture from my dry cheeks. 😦 so I have to use more products. Infact, this is not wrong. You are using the products which suit your type. But,if anyone knows of an item,please….. please let me know of it,as I am getting tired in searching for that One product for my entire face.

IMG_20150502_125731 IMG_20150502_114836-001

In the morning,I wash my face with lukewarm water. This opens up the pores.I apply Aroma magic aloe vera cleanser on my cheeks, neck  and chin and massage it gently. On my T-zone,I apply the Aroma treasures aloe vera face wash. This removes the excess oil and controls the shine for sometime.I wash everything off with cold water.I prefer using these 2 as they are mild cleansers and in the morning, you don’t want excessive cleaning of the face. After that I apply my Fabindia tea tree oil toner with a cotton ball, on my T-zone mainly. This controls the oil and prevents acne.I wait for a minute ,then apply aloe vera gel on my face and neck.During summers,no moisturiser works for me so I prefer aloe vera gel, which soothes the skin, prevents infections, nourishes the skin and is good for my eczematic skin.On my dry patches,I apply a little amount of aloe vera cold cream.A  little goes a long way when it comes to applying it,as it is effective in moistening the patches. Then I go for my Lotus Herbals sunscreen matte gel SPF 50.This is my go to sunscreen. It is my favourite because it actually mattifies the skin, sweat proof ,doesn’t make a whitish cast on face and also non-clogging.I apply just a coloured liner on my upper lids and a coloured lip balm.On my T-zone,I use compact powder and then I am out for the day.

In the night, first,I take a cotton ball, put 1-2 drops of coconut oil on it,and gently wipe my liner off.Coconut oil is an excellent make-up remover.Try it.Then, after washing with lukewarm water,I use the Clean & clear Blackhead clearing face wash on my T-zone,since this actually removes the blackheads, cleans the dirt and removes the oil.For my other parts,I use the Episoft cleanser. This cleanses the skin without irritating it.After washing everything off with cold water,I use the toner and aloe vera gel. Then the cold cream for my dry patches.I literally slather my lips with Maybelline Electropop tangy and fierce. This is my love.Keeps my lips soft for the entire night.

Once a week,I use the Ozone skin awakening scrub. If I am tanned, then I follow it with Just herbs almond complexion pack, which removes the tan and is good in oil-control.But I don’t use it often as it dries out my skin too much. Also, most days when I am too tired to use different cleansers for my skin,I use my DIY face cleanser.Does the job well.

Most of the products I have already reviewed  or explained earlier. But ,if you want,I can review the other products.Let me know of it in the comment box below. Also, all the products are available on major shopping sites like Amazon,Flipkart etc, specially for people residing outside India.

If your skin type is like mine, you can try this.Till the next time,Byeee… XOXO :-*

PS: I am an avid believer in the goodness of Aloe vera,so I can’t live without it.It worked for me during my eczema flare-up in the winters. :-\

DIY face cleanser for all skin types

Heya beauties!!! 🙂

How’s your weekend going on? 😉

As you maybe knowing, I am a sucker for herbal products. But the products we buy from the stores, are not entirely organic. They are having some or the other preservatives, which diminishes the purpose of herbal ingredients. All herbal products should have less shelf life specially if they are in liquid form, say paste, like a week or two. And for powder form,it can stay till a month or so, provided they are kept in air-tight containers. 😦 So, I decided to make my own herbal beauty product using easily available ingredients from the kitchen or garden.

I am starting with a face cleanser suitable for all skin types including eczema , sensitive skin or acne-prone skin and a shelf life of a month.

  • turmeric
  • besan or gram flour or chickpea flour
  • oats
  • honey(optional)

Turmeric-It is endowed with antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties so suitable for wounds, acne etc; It contains a compound known as ‘curcumin’ which forms the yellow pigment; this in turn functions as a coloring agent to impart a brighter skin complexion.Turmeric is an anti-oxidant that assists in attacking free radicals to give a youthful looking skin, devoid of rashes and other disorders.

Besan or gram flour or chickpea flour- It makes your skin smooth and radiant.Helps in removing tan and is a popular ingredient for skin lightening. It reduces oiliness and fights pimples. Also, removes dead cells, excess sebum and dirt quite effectively,so acts as a good scrub.Regular use reduces unwanted hair.

Oats-It absorbs and removes excess oil and bacteria from your skin and exfoliates dead skin cells, thus helping to combat acne.Oats are effective in fighting dull, flaky dryness as they contain polysaccharides, which become gelatinous in water. They form a fine protective film when applied on skin.It is effective in addressing dry skin symptoms like itching, rashes, scales, peeling etc.It contains beta-glucan that forms a fine film on your skin as well as penetrates deep into the skin to provide much needed deep moisturizing to your skin.It enhances wound healing and shallow abrasions and improves collagen deposition and activation of immune cells within the skin, helpful during chicken pox and poison ivy.Oats have anti-inflammatory properties and are suitable for all skin types. They are clinically effective in healing dry and itchy skin.Hence, can be used for eczema or dry skin related diseases.Oats are known for their skin lightening effects as well as improving the skin tone and texture and smoothing out blotchy areas.Oats contain natural cleansers called saponins that can remove dirt and oil from the pores without causing irritation. It leaves behind soft and silky skin and reduces pore size.

Honey-It is anti-bacterial in nature so good for acne-prone skin. Also,it is moisturizing so good for skin as it doesn’t strip it off its natural oils.

1. Take the oats and besan.

2. Grind the oats to a powdered form so that besan and oats can be mixed easily.

3. Now we have to mix the powdered oats with besan thoroughly.

4. After mixing ,add a little turmeric and mix it again.

5. It should look like pale yellow powder. To this, you can add honey 2 tsps.I didn’t add it here, because unluckily, didn’t had it that time. 😦 But both the results are good for skin.

6. Store it in an airtight jar.Your herbal cleanser is ready.

Take a tsp size in your hand.Add water or milk to it to make a thick paste.Rub it in your palms and then apply it as you usually do with a facewash. You can keep this for a minute to act as facepack or wash it off immediatly.

PS: Do a patch test first because everyone has different skin.Even though the ingredients used here, shouldn’t cause any problem but to be on the safer side,do it.If there is itching or redness, discontinue the use.

If you tried this cleanser, let me know.I want to know whether this worked for you or not.I love hearing from you all. 🙂

Till the next post, byeee,tc, XOXO :-*

Aroma treasures Aloe Vera face wash review

Today,I have come up with another herbal brand product review. The brand is Aroma Treasures. This brand offers numerous skin care and hair care products which are shampoos, conditioners, essential oils, body wash, face wash etc. Basically, they deal with aromatherapy which is quite the rage in this world of chemicals. All of us crave something organic nowadays.

To know about them more and see their entire catalogue listing, head over to this site.

I am always on the lookout of anything herbal.I want a product which has herbal contents, works on my body and is within a budget. And I have found this in Aroma treasures. 🙂

Lately,I have been obsessed with Aloe Vera,so when I saw this product on,I immediately bought it.The moment I received it,I had used it on my face.Since then I have been using it.

Packaging- This came in a paper packaging.Plastic pump bottle with a small nozzle.I liked the nozzle very much because unlike other pump dispensers, this one will dispense little amount at a time. Two pumps are enough for the face and neck.It is a tight packaging so travel friendly.

Price and quantity- INR 185 for 100ml so its cheap. 😛

Fragrance- Aloe vera doesn’t have a smell so this doesn’t have too.

Texture- Transparent gel which doesn’t lather much.People who are lather lovers, will not like this,I suppose. :-\

Availibility- This is not available on their site,so you have to head over to Flipkart,Jabong,Purplle and Nykaa.Do check out the pricing on these sites and choose the one which has lowest price including the shipping cost. 😉 Currently,Jabong is offering the highest price. 😦

My thoughts- Since this facewash claims to be used for all skin types,I went ahead gladly. On my combination sensitive skin, this scored 9/10.

There was no irritation or redness. Also,it removed the excess oil from my face, but I felt it bit drying on my cheeks and chin. This maybe due to the dry weather going on right now. Then,I don’t think this will work during winters  as it may cause dryness. So here,I think, this facewash will suit only the oily-skinned people.

I have to see whether summers will be in its favour or not for all skin types.I will continue using this during the summers as my T-zone gets super -oily .

After washing my face with this,I felt freshness and a squeaky clean face.It claims to remove makeup, which is not true at all.I tested this on Lakme absolute liquid liner and Maybelline vivid and smooth eyeliner .It required lot of effort actually.

Overall verdict-Dry skinned people can stay away from this.Otherwise,it is a good face wash to use.

Till the next post, cya, take care XOXO :-*

Nykaa & Jabong Haul

Heya ladies!

How are you all doing? 😉 I hope you are having a great day,but if you are not, then go for binge shopping. 😛 Shopping is a stress buster.

Whenever,a special day arrives, like the recent Women’s day,I get ready to splurge on amazing deals online.I am a hardcore feminist and I believe Women’s day should not be a one-day affair.Rather, every woman should live her life like it’s a Women’s day everyday. 🙂

I stocked up on my essentials and also bought some new items to try.Among my essentials,I bought Episoft cleanser ( Check out it’s review here) and Aroma Magic china rose anti-dandruff shampoo.I have to review the shampoo as I am on it’s 2nd bottle.

The things I bought for trying are Maybelline electropop Fierce n Tangy(I know I am bit late 😦 ),Aroma treasures Aloe vera facewash,Aroma treasures Tea tree oil and 2 eyeshadow palettes from Nicka K New York. The last two are from Jabong.Jabong is giving 50% discounts so I got these for an amazing price.

I have got the herbal bug so I am trying every herbal brand out there. Infact,I am an eyeshadow freak also.I keep piling up eyeshadows, not knowing when to use them. 😀

I will do a detailed review on the above leaving out the lipbalm.Everyone has done it already. 😦
